London Spring Term Holiday: Day 1

Image
In the spring term holidays (which were 2 weeks long), my family and I went to London for 4 days and 3 nights. The reason why we went to London, is to make my baby sister Aila's passport because we are going to Malaysia 🇲🇾 in the summer holidays. Instead of travelling for 4 hours straight, we decided stop in Birmingham, which is approximately at the halfway point in our journey.  We set off in the morning on Wednesday 12th April and we drove 2hrs and 18mins to Birmingham. It was quite a long journey so I slept for most of it 😴. I also forgot to mention that I was fasting during the holidays as it was Ramadan (the month of fast for Muslims). Ramadan is a special time for Muslims, we fast from sunrise until sunset and we do a lot of good deeds as they are worth more in this special month. We also do a special Ramadan night prayer called Taraweeh after our 5th daily prayer. When we arrived at Birmingham, we went to the Bullring Mall where we found some nice treats to buy for breaki

A Walk in the Park

Me and baby Aila whilst waiting for the bikes to be pumped up  On Sunday 2nd April 2023, my family and I decided to go for a lovely walk at a nearby park.  In the morning, I had badminton club for 2 hours (from 10am - 12 noon) and we played doubles matches for the whole time as it was the last lesson before Easter break. It was a lot of fun! In the afternoon, my brother and my sister wanted to go cycling so we all decided go get some fresh air as well.  The bikes' tyres were quite flat so we had to pump them up again. After the tyres were pumped, we set off. The walk wasn't that long to get to the park (of course Hana and Hakeem were a lot quicker as they went on their bikes...).  When we got there, I noticed how beautiful the willow trees were and I decided to take some photos! An attempt of a setting description for this park: The sky was clear, as clear as my thoughts in that moment, as clear as a painter's blank canvas and as clear as the tune that sung melodically thro

Raise your hand!

Edit: I found this unpublished post from the 10th June 2020, I just thought it would be nice to publish it now as I kinda forgot to post it 3  years ago 😅 In media cubs, we have created a campaign called 'Raise Your Hand'. Raise your hand campaign aims at children aged 7-11 to give them a voice in the media. Everyone else has given their views and kids have not been asked. At my school, Big Boss (media cubs leader) came and she showed us many interesting things. She also told us to write down questions that we would like to ask the Prime Minister. One of the interesting things she showed us was something journalists use when they want to jot down something quickly, shorthand. Shorthand may just look like a bunch of squiggles but it is a written language that journalists study and understand. A few weeks later, Jack, Sammy and I got to interview Andy Burnham (the mayor of Manchester). He seemed very honest with answers. If you want to take a look at the press conference,

Update...

Hello again! I recently just remembered that this still existed and that I haven't posted in a while. I've decided that I still want to continue to post! It has been a while since I've actually posted anything so excuse my grammatical mistakes here and there... (recently I've just noticed that Monopoly was spelt wrong in one of my earlier posts, it was spelt as Monoply [*internally face palms] so I went back and corrected all of the misspellings) A bit about me nowadays... I still like to play the piano, I've done my grade 5 and now I am working towards my grade 6 exam. I've got into badminton: it is now my favourite sport! I go to a club on Sunday mornings for 2 hours and it is a lot of fun. I've just picked my GCSEs back in February: I picked Separate Science, Maths, the 2 Englishes, History, Spanish and Art (all adds up to 9 GCSEs), I do hope it goes well for me I really like baking, I find it quite relaxing and I've made a lot of tasty treats (watch
