Interform 2023 (Summer ☀️)

On Thursday 13th July, people in year 9 had an interform competition. Interform is when people from different forms (classes) come together in school to compete in a sport, basically a tournament between classes.
At my school, we have 2 interforms altogether in the year; one in the winter and one in the summer. In the winter, we do the sports netball and hockey. In the summer, it's badminton, tennis and rounders.
This year, I competed in netball and hockey in winter (unfortunately it got cancelled because of the rain 🌧) and I chose to compete in badminton and rounders.
When forms pick their teams, people can choose to either be in the 'A' group or the 'B' group. The 'A' group is generally where the most talented individuals compete and it is a lot more competitive whereas the 'B' group is a little more relaxed.
I competed in the 'A' group for both sports.

So, on Thursday, the first two sports going on at the same time were Badminton and Tennis. Badminton was in the sports hall and tennis was on the courts outside. In both racket sports, it was a doubles tournament. 3 people are allowed on each team, but 2 minimum. We had 3 people on the 'A' team in Badminton and throughout the games, we were rotating. In a total of 6 games, we won 5. This was good as we got 2nd place. Next year, we'll aim for first.

Rounders in the afternoon was fun, however, all the other teams in other forms were really good! They had amazing technique and great teamwork. In the end, we came last place...

We were also supposed to have sports day the day after (athletics between forms) but it had to be moved to next week because of the unpredictable weather.

I hope I improve my game playing (especially badminton) next year so we can have another chance at winning.
See you next time!
